Municipal golf course: The golf course is on Route 66 and is five miles to the west of Tucumari. This is 9-hole golf course and is one of the best golf courses in the eastern New Mexico. The golf course remains open from Tuesday through Sunday from 8 am to dark.
Mesalands Community College's Dinosaur Museum: This is a spacious museum which has 10,000 square feet of display space and a paleontology cum geology laboratory which is fully equipped. There are exhibits of original and replica fossils. The theme of the museum is the Mesozoic era and includes a skeleton of the Torvosaurus. There are also some bronze skeletons, along with replica fossils from the prehistoric ages. Some museum collections are also available for the purpose of study. The museum also has its own retail shop and sales fossils, books, souvenirs and many more. The museum remains open from Tuesday through Saturday from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm. It is a nice place to visit.
Another museum of Tucumcari is the Tucumcari Historical Museum: The museum has a wide collection of items from 12,000 BC. It also has some original Indian artifacts along with a Chevrolet fire truck. This museum is unique of its kind. It is filled with stuffs all over which can be cow patties, scrapbooks, bowling balls or even a roulette wheel. Entry fee to the museum is $2.00 exclusive of taxes for adults and $0.50 for children.
