Eastern or the Eastern New Mexico University is a state university in the city of Portales, apart from being the most newly-established state university of New Mexico. Other branches of the university are located in Roswell and Ruidoso.New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology is a famous research university in the city of Socorro. Established in 1888 as the agricultural college of Las Cruces College, the school was named the New Mexico College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts in 1889.
In 1960 the college got its current name. The University of New Mexico, which was established in 1889, is a public university in the city of Albuquerque. This university offers several programs for bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral and professional degrees in the disciplines of engineering, sciences and arts. Situated in Silver City and founded in 1893, Western New Mexico University at present offers a wide of educational programs.
