Colleges in New Mexico

The US state of New Mexico is home to a number of notable colleges and universities which are situated across the 39 counties of New Mexico. The numbers of the leading Colleges in New Mexico are quite a few, including the College of Santa Fe, Diné College, Central New Mexico Community College, College of the Southwest, San Juan College, St. John's College and The Art Center Design College, Albuquerque. This college was previously known as the TVI Community College and the Albuquerque Technical Vocational Institute. The College of Santa Fe is a liberal arts college with its base in Santa Fe. The college puts up a typical undergraduate program along with the weekend and evening programs for employed adults. St. John’s College is also a liberal arts college with two campuses at Annapolis in Maryland and Santa Fe in New Mexico. Established in 1696, as King William’s School which was a preparatory school, the institution obtained status of a college in 1784.The College of the Southwest is a private four-year non-denominational college which is situated in the city of Hobbs in New Mexico. This college provides baccalaureate degrees in computer science, education, criminal justice, sports management and other disciplines. Diné College is a two-year community college which is run by the tribal communities and serves the Navajo Indian Reservation people and covers New Mexico, Arizona and Utah.



The San Juan College was established in the year 1956 as the Farmington Branch of the famous New Mexico College of Agriculture and Mechanical Arts.
